Featured projects

Advanced load control, CFB boiler
Energy boiler, 260 t/h steam at 100 bar, circulating fluidized bed, firing petroleum coke, coal, gas and fuel oil, on DCS Emerson Ovation.
Delivered: coordinated boiler–turbine load control; solid fuel allocation across feeders by heat value; steam temperature control by cascade regulators with a superheater model; primary and secondary air control; SO2 and NOx regulation through furnace temperature and lime dosing; automatic calculation of petroleum coke calorific value; and an oxygen cascade controller referenced to boiler mode and fuel.

Virtual power plant
Four photovoltaic plants, one wind farm and one conventional gas/coal plant with boilers and steam turbines combined into a single dispatch unit: three remote PV control systems at 1 MW each, a local PV control system at 9 MW and a remote wind control system at 80 MW, all connected to the gas/coal plant control system, with output balanced by the steam turbine to a predetermined schedule.

Plant performance monitoring
Real-time efficiency of boilers, turbines and heat exchangers against design values, with the cost of losses and deviations from factory specification calculated continuously, plus energy and material balances for water, steam, gas and electricity. Data from DCS ABB Industrial IT and DCS Emerson Ovation over OPC, and from SCADA and commercial metering over Modbus, with central long-term archiving. Calculations follow ASME and other industry standards.

Control centers
Design, manufacture and supply of control room equipment and operator furniture, covering acoustics, layout, lighting, microclimate, backup power and operator interface, specified for 24/7 operation.
